2024 Book Lovers’ Book Sale: April 18 – 27

It’s the most wonderful time of year - Book Sale Time! The Book Sale will run from April 18 through 27. This year's location is the also the location used last year, the former Chuck E Cheese site at the Southern Hills Mall. Park on the Barnes & Nobles side of the mall and use the outside door to enter. This used Book Sale is a Friends of the Sioux City Public Library fundraiser. Proceeds enrich public library service in Sioux City, funding children's summer reading initiative and providing books, recordings, online resources, and more!

Monday, April 8 is Solar Eclipse Day! Want to get the very best glimpse of this partial solar eclipse? Stop by any of the three Library locations (Aalfs Downtown, Morningside Branch, or Perry Creek Branch) to pick up your FREE Eclipse Glasses! One pair of glasses per family member, with a limit of 4 per family. Supplies are limited.

Family History Collage Craft on March 3

Be an artist just like Jean from the Sioux City Reads novel 'Take What You Need' by Idra Novey. All ages are invited to spend a relaxing afternoon on Sunday, March 3 making family history collages in the Gleeson Room at the Downtown Library. Scissors, poster board, scrapbooking paper, stickers, and paste will be provided. Participants should bring the family photos they wish to use in their collages.
