Read. Renew. Repeat. The 2024 theme for Summer Reading encourages individuals and communities to be more sustainable - either by using the Library and sharing resources or by recycling goods rather than throwing them away.
Kickoff a summer of fun at the Library! Make your own button from recycled books, show off at the Family Dance Party, follow the map and read along the Book Walk, and find clues for a prize during the scavenger hunt. Meet Sioux City Explorers mascot, Slider! Plus, pick up your Summer Reading Starter Pack and sign up on the Beanstack App.
Celebrate “Star Wars Day” with out-of-this-world books from a galaxy far, far away! We’ll share outer space stories, test our Jedi skills, and make a cosmic craft to take home! All ages welcome. Registration is required. Free parking on weekends!
Looking for that next Teen Romance novel that will give you all the feelings? We have some swoon-worthy titles at the Sioux City Public Library!

It’s the most wonderful time of year - Book Sale Time! The Book Sale will run from April 18 through 27. This year's location is the also the location used last year, the former Chuck E Cheese site at the Southern Hills Mall. Proceeds enrich public library service in Sioux City, funding children's summer reading initiative and providing books, recordings, online resources, and more!

National Library Week is a time to celebrate libraries, the contributions of library workers, and to promote library use and support. The theme for National Library Week 2024 is "Ready, Set, Library," illustrating the idea that in this fast-paced, online-focused world, libraries give everyone a green light to something truly special: a place to discover a great read, connect with others, and learn new skills.
Let us entertain you! Join us for a puppet show featuring trickster spider Anansi! Children can create their own puppet to take home after the curtains close. All ages welcome. Registration is required. Free parking on weekends!
