The Sioux City Public Library Board of Trustees has voted to permanently eliminate overdue fines for full-service Sioux City Public Library cards, a move that benefits at least 75% of the Library’s cardholders.  What does that mean for you? Discover your family’s history for free with the library version of Ancestry.com. Find U.S. Federal Census records, passenger lists, birth, death, marriage and military records and much more. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ProQuest is temporarily allowing remote use of their Ancestry Library Edition database to better serve patrons. You will need your full-access library card number and PIN (month and day of the card holder’s birthdate – MMDD) to access Ancestry from home.

The Sioux City Public Library has a podcast! The First Fifty Pages is a collaboration between the Sioux City Public Library and Sioux City’s local NPR station, KWIT-KOJI. This monthly podcast will inform you on books, library culture, and reading trends and will also keep you up-to-date on the happenings at your local library. You can listen via KWIT’s website or download the episodes via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and PlayerFM.

You no longer have to wait until your next visit to take care of library fees. You can now quickly and easily pay library fines by credit card from any internet-connected device using your Sioux City Public Library card number and four-digit PIN (birth month and day) to sign in.
